2024 REALTOR® Leadership Development Scholarship Application

PURPOSE: To provide assistance to qualified applicants based on their leadership potential.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: Up to $1500.00 to be applied to the 2024 NC REALTORS® Conference & Expo registration, hotel, and miscellaneous expenses.

ELIGIBILITY: Any primary or secondary REALTOR® member in good standing with AAAR and interested in serving on the Board of Directors or Committees of AAAR is eligible to apply for the scholarship. AAAR will determine scholarship recipients on a points basis. Individuals may only receive the scholarship once. Recipients will be expected to attend education sessions and various NC REALTORS® committee meetings while attending Convention. Recipients will be required to make a short presentation, either in-person or written, to the Board of Directors after Convention to discuss their experience. 

PLEASE NOTE- Recipients will be expected to volunteer to serve AAAR in a leadership capacity in 2025 or may be required to reimburse the scholarship fund.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION MUST BE RETURNED TO AAAR OFFICE BY JUNE 30, 2024. WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY JULY 31, 2024.

DESCRIPTION: The Albemarle Area Association of REALTORS® (AAAR) may provide up to three $1500 scholarships to three primary or secondary AAAR members (in good standing) to attend the 2024 NC REALTORS® Conference and Expo. 

PURPOSE: The purpose of the AAAR Leadership Scholarship is to provide assistance to qualified applicants based on their leadership potential. 

POLICY: 

  1. The 2024 NC REALTORS® Conference and Expo is scheduled for October 19-22, 2024, at the Wilmington Convention Center in Wilmington, NC. 
  2. All AAAR primary and secondary members in good standing with the association are eligible to apply for one of three scholarships. 
  3. AAAR will pay for each recipient’s convention registration as well as hotel and miscellaneous expenses up to a total of $1500.00 (AAAR will reimburse the member OR will pay expenses for member as requested). 
  4.  All applications received will be reviewed by a Scholarship Committee appointed by the President and approved by the Board of Directors. 
  5. Applications are due to the AAAR office by June 30, 2024. Winners of the Scholarship will be announced by July 31, 2024. 
  6. Winners of the Scholarships will be chosen on a points basis (as per the application). However, AAAR reserves the right not to award the scholarships if scholarship requirements are not met. 
  7. Winners will be expected to attend education sessions as well as NCR committee meetings while at convention, accompanied by President, President-Elect, or AE.
