Meet Sonya: 

Sonya is a dedicated real estate professional serving Currituck and the surrounding areas of Northeastern North Carolina, including the Outer Banks. Her knowledge of the local market, combined with a strong commitment to client service, allows her to help buyers and sellers make informed real estate decisions with confidence.

Sonya works with a wide range of clients, including first-time homebuyers, sellers, investors, and military families. As a Military Relocation Professional (MRP®), she is prepared to assist clients who may be navigating a relocation or transition.

Sonya has earned several professional designations that reflect her commitment to serving a wide range of clients and property types, including Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®), Seller Representative Specialist (SRS®), Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS), Residential Remodeling Specialist (RRS), and At Home With Diversity (AHWD). She also holds a Residential Construction Certificate (RCC) and Certified New Home Specialist (CNHS), providing clients with added guidance when purchasing new construction, second homes, or custom-built properties.

Her family roots in the Outer Banks extend back generations, including ties to Betsy Dowdy and members of the region’s historic lighthouse communities. This long-standing connection gives her a valuable understanding of the area’s history, growth, and property market.

Sonya earned degrees from Campbell University and Elizabeth City State University, and her background in business management supports the organized communication and professional representation she provides throughout each transaction. Outside of real estate, she remains active in animal welfare through volunteer work with local shelters, fostering rescue animals, and serving on the advisory board for the Currituck Animal Shelter.
